TL;DR. AppFollow’s pricing page, checked 1 September 2026, still routes to a contact form rather than a price table — the same thing we found checking it on 26 and 27 August. Its own 2024 blog post, cross-checked again today, lists five tiers, from a free plan (2 apps, 10 competitors, 7-day history) up to Team at $599/month; treat those as “last known,” not live. MobileAction publishes real numbers: Lite at $15/month (100 keywords) up to Pro at $239/month (1,500 keywords, 3 seats), all confirmed live on mobileaction.co today. The bigger surprise: MobileAction’s Basic tier ($69/month) now includes review sentiment analysis and AI-generated reply drafting — features that used to be AppFollow’s specific reason to exist. Both cover the App Store and Google Play at every tier.

AppFollow built its reputation on review management; MobileAction built its on keyword research. If you’re comparing them, it’s usually because a shortlist put both under “ASO tools” without flagging that they started from different jobs. We checked appfollow.io/pricing and mobileaction.co/pricing directly on 1 September 2026. AppFollow prices in USD via its blog (the live page shows no prices at all); MobileAction prices in USD on its live pricing page.

Which one publishes real pricing?

MobileAction does; AppFollow doesn’t, as of today. MobileAction’s pricing page shows four tiers — Lite, Basic, Pro, Enterprise — with exact dollar amounts, keyword caps, app counts, and seat limits visible the moment you land on it. AppFollow’s pricing page is a “Talk to us” contact form; no tier names or figures appear on the live page.

The closest thing to a public number for AppFollow is its own July 2024 blog post, “How to choose the right AppFollow plan,” which lists five tiers. We re-checked that post again today, 1 September 2026, and the figures match what we found on 26 and 27 August — so the structure looks stable even though it isn’t the site’s live pricing page.

At matched keyword volume the two land close: AppFollow’s blog-listed ASO tier ($19/month, 500 keywords) undercuts MobileAction’s Basic ($69/month, also 500 keywords) on paper — but that AppFollow number isn’t verifiable today without a sales call, while MobileAction’s is one page load away.

Does MobileAction’s review tooling compete with AppFollow’s specialty now?

Partly, yes — and this is the detail a shortlist comparison misses. MobileAction’s Basic tier ($69/month) now lists review sentiment analysis and AI-generated reply drafting alongside its keyword tools, per mobileaction.co/pricing checked today. That used to be a clean dividing line between the two vendors; it isn’t anymore.

It’s not a full replacement, though. AppFollow’s review tooling, per its own site, includes reply automation across eight distribution channels (App Store, Google Play, Mac App Store, Microsoft Store, Samsung Galaxy Store, Huawei AppGallery, Steam, Trustpilot) plus helpdesk integrations — Zendesk, Salesforce, Slack, Tableau — built for a team routing review volume into an existing support workflow. MobileAction’s review features sit inside an ASO-first product with no helpdesk integrations listed; it’s closer to “know what people are saying” than “route it to your support queue.”

Does either cover Android as well as iOS?

Yes, both do, at every tier. AppFollow and MobileAction both track the Apple App Store and Google Play, so platform coverage isn’t the deciding factor between these two — AppFollow additionally covers Mac App Store, Microsoft Store, Samsung Galaxy Store, Huawei AppGallery, Steam, and Trustpilot, which matters only if your distribution goes beyond mobile.

Which one should a solo developer pick?

If you’re tracking one app and want a number you can verify today without a sales call, MobileAction’s Lite tier ($15/month) is the cheapest verifiable entry point of the two — though 100 keywords and 3 months of history are thin once long-tail variants are counted. AppFollow’s free tier (2 apps, 10 competitors, 7-day history) costs nothing but caps history at a week, which isn’t enough to see a ranking trend.

If review volume genuinely isn’t your problem yet, MobileAction Basic ($69/month, 500 keywords, 10 competitors/app) is the more verifiable like-for-like against AppFollow’s blog-listed ASO tier — you’re trading AppFollow’s claimed lower price for a number you can actually check before committing.

Which one should a growing studio pick?

If review-reply volume across multiple storefronts and a helpdesk integration are the actual bottleneck, AppFollow’s feature set is built for that job specifically — Zendesk, Salesforce, and Slack integrations aren’t in MobileAction’s tier descriptions at any level. Budget for a sales conversation to get a current price, since that’s what the live pricing page routes you to.

If a second login matters, weigh the seat structure carefully: MobileAction caps every self-serve tier below Pro at 1 seat, adding 3 only at $239/month; AppFollow’s blog-listed tiers claim unlimited users at every level, including its free plan. That’s a real advantage for a multi-person team if the figure still holds — verify it in the sales conversation you’ll need anyway to get a current number.

What’s missing from both?

Direct App Store Connect write-back. Neither vendor’s tier descriptions mention pushing a title, subtitle, keyword field, or description change live to App Store Connect or Google Play Console — both are research-and-monitoring layers, and you still make the actual metadata change yourself. That’s the same gap we found comparing AppTweak and MobileAction and AppFollow and AppTweak.

The short version

  • Cheapest verifiable price today: MobileAction Lite, $15/month, 100 keywords — AppFollow’s cheaper $19/month figure comes from a 2024 blog post, not a live pricing page
  • Review-reply volume across multiple storefronts, helpdesk integrations matter: AppFollow — but budget for a sales conversation to get a current number
  • Review sentiment and AI reply drafting bundled with keyword tools: MobileAction Basic ($69/month) now includes both, a real change from when AppFollow was the only one offering it
  • Multi-person team, tight budget: AppFollow’s blog-listed tiers claim unlimited seats at every level; MobileAction caps every tier below Pro ($239/month) at 1 seat
  • You want research to end in a live App Store Connect update, not a dashboard: neither tool does this today — check a tool built around that workflow, like Marteso

Where Marteso fits, and where it doesn’t

Full disclosure: Marteso is our product, so weigh this like any vendor’s self-description. Marteso connects to App Store Connect, tracks keywords, and generates AI-assisted suggestions for title, subtitle, keywords, and description that you review and apply yourself — it doesn’t push metadata changes live automatically, verified against marteso.com and marteso.com/docs on 1 September 2026. Pricing is transparent on the site: a free Starter tier (1 app, 50 keywords, 3 competitor apps, daily rank updates) and Pro at €18 per app/month (500 keywords, unlimited competitor apps, AI metadata optimizer). It’s iOS-only, with no Google Play support, and it doesn’t have AppFollow’s helpdesk-integrated review-reply workflow or MobileAction’s Apple Ads campaign management. If either of those is your actual bottleneck, one of today’s two tools is built for that job; if the job is tracking your own iOS rankings and drafting the next metadata change, Marteso is.
