TL;DR. MobileAction publishes its ASO Intelligence pricing outright, checked directly on mobileaction.co on 2 September 2026: Lite at $15/month (100 keywords, 5 apps + 3 competitors each, 1 seat), Basic at $69/month (500 keywords, 8 apps + 10 competitors each), Pro at $239/month (1,500 keywords, 10 apps + 15 competitors each, 3 seats), and a quote-only Enterprise tier. Sensor Tower has no published pricing at all — every plan is custom, confirmed on sensortower.com the same day. What you get for Sensor Tower’s unlisted price is a different category of product: download, revenue, and ad-spend estimates for apps you don’t own, not just ASO tooling for your own. If your job is tracking your own iOS rankings and researching keywords, that’s what MobileAction’s cheapest tier already does.
If you’ve narrowed an ASO tool search down to these two, the decision isn’t really “which is the better ASO tool” — Sensor Tower is barely an ASO tool by comparison, it’s a market-intelligence platform that happens to include one. We checked mobileaction.co/pricing and sensortower.com directly on 2 September 2026 to confirm the numbers below.
Which one actually publishes prices?
MobileAction does; Sensor Tower doesn’t. That’s the whole first decision.
| MobileAction | Sensor Tower | |
|---|---|---|
| Entry tier | Lite — $15/month ($12.50/month billed yearly) | Not published |
| Entry tier limits | 100 keywords, 5 apps + 3 competitors each, 15 tracked apps total, 1 seat | Custom — quote depends on module(s) |
| Mid tier | Basic — $69/month ($59/month yearly) | Not published |
| Mid tier limits | 500 keywords, 8 apps + 10 competitors each, 80 tracked apps total, 1 seat | Custom |
| Top self-serve tier | Pro — $239/month ($199/month yearly) | Not published |
| Top tier limits | 1,500 keywords, 10 apps + 15 competitors each, 150 tracked apps total, 3 seats | Custom |
| Enterprise | Custom (contact sales) | Custom (contact sales — the only option) |
| How you get a number | Read the pricing page | Book a demo and talk to sales |
Sensor Tower’s pricing page states plainly: “We customize pricing plans for each customer — get in touch to find your perfect fit.” There’s no self-serve checkout and no published starting price anywhere on the site, the same as when we checked it in mid-August.
What do you get for MobileAction’s published price?
Lite, MobileAction’s cheapest tier, covers keyword research, a (limited) ranked-keywords report, and AI-generated keyword suggestions across 5 followed apps and 3 competitors per app. It’s aimed at a single developer sanity-checking their own listing, not running a full competitive program.
Basic is the jump most solo developers actually need: advanced keyword grouping, competitor insight tooling, and review sentiment analysis, at 500 keywords and 8 apps + 10 competitors each. Pro adds brand-vs-generic keyword splits, organic-downloads-per-keyword estimates, and localization reports, plus a third seat — useful once you’re comparing markets, not just tracking one. Enterprise, priced on request like everything Sensor Tower sells, adds a dedicated customer success manager, SSO, and every Pro feature at higher limits.
MobileAction also sells a separate product, CMP, for managing Apple Ads campaigns — free up to $10,000/month in ad spend, with a custom Enterprise tier above that. That’s Apple Ads spend management, not ASO tracking, and it’s priced and sold independently of the ASO Intelligence tiers above.
What does Sensor Tower cover that MobileAction doesn’t?
This is the actual reason to consider Sensor Tower despite the missing price tag. Its core product, App Performance Insights, covers downloads, revenue, RPD (revenue per download), active users, sessions, and keyword rankings — for apps you don’t own, not just your own. MobileAction’s competitor tooling is metadata- and keyword-focused; it doesn’t estimate a rival’s install volume or revenue.
Sensor Tower also bundles in several modules under its custom quotes that MobileAction has no equivalent for: App Advertising Insights (share-of-voice and ad-spend intelligence across mobile ad networks), Pathmatics (cross-channel digital ad tracking across Meta, TikTok, X, YouTube, and more), Gaming Insights for genre- and monetization-specific benchmarking, Audience Insights, Web Insights, and a Sensor Tower MCP server for AI workflow integration. MobileAction’s Ad Intelligence and Search Ads Intelligence products exist too, but — like everything else at Sensor Tower — they’re custom-quote only, so there’s no way to compare list prices there either.
Neither vendor’s site describes writing a metadata change — title, subtitle, keyword field — back to App Store Connect or Google Play Console. Both are research-and-reporting layers; you make the actual change yourself.
Which one should a solo developer pick?
If your job is tracking your own app’s keyword rankings, researching keyword opportunities, and watching a handful of named competitors, MobileAction’s Lite tier at $15/month gives you a real number to budget against today — no sales call required. If you need review sentiment analysis and deeper competitor insight on top of that, Basic at $69/month is the realistic working tier for a shipping solo developer.
If you specifically need download or revenue estimates for apps you don’t own — sizing a category before you enter it, or benchmarking against a competitor’s install trend rather than just their keywords — that’s Sensor Tower’s actual differentiator, and nothing in MobileAction’s tiers replicates it at any price. But be honest about the cost of finding out what it costs: there’s no number until you’ve booked a demo.
What’s missing from both?
Direct App Store Connect write-back, at any tier, from either vendor — the same scope gap we found comparing Sensor Tower and AppTweak and AppFollow and MobileAction. Both tools tell you what’s happening; neither pushes the fix live.
The short version
- Want a number before you talk to anyone: MobileAction — $15/month gets you 100 keywords, 5 apps, and 3 competitors per app
- Need download/revenue estimates for apps you don’t own: Sensor Tower is built for that; MobileAction isn’t
- Budget-conscious solo developer tracking your own rankings: MobileAction’s Lite tier, or AppTweak’s €79/month Essential tier if you want higher keyword and competitor limits from the start
- Want research to end in a live App Store Connect update, not a dashboard: neither tool does this today — see Marteso
Where Marteso fits, and where it doesn’t
Full disclosure: Marteso is our product, so weigh this like any vendor’s self-description. Marteso connects to App Store Connect, tracks keywords, and generates AI-assisted metadata suggestions for title, subtitle, keywords, and description that you review and push yourself — verified against marteso.com and marteso.com/docs on 2 September 2026. Pricing is transparent: a free Starter tier (1 app, 50 keywords, 3 competitor apps, daily rank updates) and Pro at €18 per app/month (500 keywords, unlimited competitor apps, AI metadata optimizer). It’s iOS-only, with no documented Google Play support or A/B testing, and it has neither MobileAction’s Apple Ads campaign management nor Sensor Tower’s third-party download, revenue, and ad-spend estimates. If competitive market intelligence across apps you don’t own is the actual job, that’s what Sensor Tower is built for; if the job is tracking your own iOS rankings and drafting the next metadata change, Marteso is.
