TL;DR. Sensor Tower publishes no pricing anywhere on its site — sensortower.com/pricing shows only “we customize pricing plans for each customer” and a demo-request form, confirmed 8 September 2026. Appfigures publishes six tiers on the same date: a genuine Free plan ($0, no keyword limit stated), Connect ($9.99/month, 25 keywords), Monitor ($44.99/month, 100 keywords), Optimize ($149.99/month, 500 keywords, 1 premium competitor), Boost ($599.99/month, 1,000 keywords, 2 premium competitors), and Amplify ($1,399.99/month, 2,500 keywords, unlimited premium competitors). If you want a number before a sales call, only one of these two gives you one.
Both names come up when developers ask “what should I use to track my app,” but they’re not really competing for the same job. Sensor Tower is a market-intelligence platform built around estimating downloads, revenue, and ad spend for apps across the store, sold through sales conversations. Appfigures is a self-serve dashboard that bundles your own app’s download/revenue analytics with keyword tracking, priced per tier on its public pricing page.
Neither vendor makes Marteso, so there’s no reason to shade this. We checked sensortower.com and appfigures.com/pricing directly on 8 September 2026 to confirm the figures below.
Which one actually publishes prices?
Appfigures does, in full, across six named tiers. Sensor Tower doesn’t put a single figure on its site.
| Sensor Tower | Appfigures | |
|---|---|---|
| Free tier | Not offered | Free — $0, keyword access limited, no stated app/keyword cap |
| Entry tier | Not published | Connect — $9.99/month (25 keywords, 5 apps free then $1.99 each, 0 premium competitors) |
| Mid tier | Not published | Monitor — $44.99/month (100 keywords, same app/competitor terms) |
| 500-keyword tier | Not published | Optimize — $149.99/month (500 keywords, 1 premium competitor) |
| Higher tiers | Not published | Boost — $599.99/month (1,000 keywords, 2 premium competitors); Amplify — $1,399.99/month (2,500 keywords, unlimited premium competitors) |
| Annual discount | N/A | Roughly 20% off monthly rate on every paid tier |
| Enterprise | Custom (contact sales — the only tier that exists) | Not published beyond Amplify |
| How you get a number | Book a demo | Read the pricing page |
| Platforms | Cross-platform (iOS + Android) market data, not per-app management | App Store + Google Play |
As of today, sensortower.com/pricing shows no tiers or dollar figures — only the “we customize pricing plans for each customer” line and a Contact Sales button. There’s no self-serve path to a price, the same result we found checking the same page on 29 Aug and again on 2 Sep.
What do you get on Appfigures’ Free plan?
More than the name suggests, but with the ceilings left unstated. Appfigures’ pricing page lists the Free plan as including download and revenue tracking across all your apps, subscription analytics, ad performance and campaign-spend tracking, a payments tracker, keyword rank tracking, review management, and store performance monitoring — the same feature list as the paid tiers, just without a published keyword or app limit. The page doesn’t say how many keywords Free actually tracks or whether there’s a seat restriction; you’d need to sign up to find out. Every tier past Free scales the same underlying feature set by keyword volume (25 → 2,500) and premium competitor slots (0 → unlimited).
What does Sensor Tower actually sell, if not a keyword tracker?
Its core product, App Performance Insights, estimates downloads, revenue, active users, and keyword rankings for apps — including ones you don’t own. Around that, Sensor Tower’s site lists separately-named modules: App Advertising Insights and Pathmatics (ad-spend and creative tracking across networks like Meta, TikTok, and YouTube), Gaming Insights with GameIQ, Advanced Usage Insights, Retail Media Insights, Audience Insights, Web Insights, and an MCP server for AI-agent integrations. All of it is sold through the same custom-quote path — there’s no self-serve checkout for any of it.
If your actual job is “track my own app’s keyword rankings and see my own revenue,” Appfigures does that today at a published price. Sensor Tower’s strength is estimating numbers for apps that aren’t yours — a different question, answered a different way.
Neither vendor’s site describes writing a metadata change — title, subtitle, keyword field — back to App Store Connect or Google Play Console. Both are research-and-reporting layers; you still make the change yourself, the same gap we found comparing Sensor Tower and AppTweak and MobileAction and Appfigures.
Which one should a solo developer pick?
If you’re tracking your own app’s keywords and want your own download/revenue numbers in the same dashboard, Appfigures’ Connect tier does that today for a published $9.99/month, or you can start on the Free plan and see what it actually gives you before paying anything. There’s no equivalent way to try Sensor Tower without booking a demo, and no way to know in advance what it costs — a real friction point if you’re comparing tools on a lunch break rather than a sales call.
The case for picking up the phone anyway: you need download or revenue estimates for apps you don’t own — sizing a category, or benchmarking a competitor’s install trend rather than just its keywords. Nothing in Appfigures’ tiers replicates that; it reports on your own portfolio, not the wider market.
The short version
- Want a number without talking to anyone: Appfigures — Free plan at $0, or Connect at $9.99/month for 25 keywords
- Pricing page with no pricing on it: Sensor Tower — a demo-booking form, no tiers, no figures
- Need download/revenue estimates for apps you don’t own: that’s Sensor Tower’s actual product; Appfigures reports on your own apps, not the wider market
- Want revenue/download analytics bundled with keyword tracking from the cheapest tier: Appfigures, from $9.99/month
- Want research to end in a live App Store Connect update, not a dashboard: neither tool does this today
Where Marteso fits, and where it doesn’t
Full disclosure: Marteso is our product, so weigh this like any vendor’s self-description. Marteso connects to App Store Connect, tracks keywords, and generates AI-assisted metadata suggestions for title, subtitle, keywords, and description that you review and apply yourself — verified against marteso.com and marteso.com/docs on 8 September 2026. Pricing is transparent: a free Starter tier (2 apps, 50 keywords per app, 3 competitors per app, daily rank updates, no credit card) and Pro at €18 per app/month (unlimited apps, 500 keywords per app, unlimited competitors, AI metadata optimizer). It’s iOS-only, with no documented Google Play support, and it doesn’t offer Appfigures’ bundled download/revenue analytics or Sensor Tower’s third-party market estimates for apps you don’t own. If tracking your own iOS rankings and drafting the next metadata change is the job, that’s ours and Appfigures’ scope; if sizing a category or a competitor’s install trend is the job, that’s Sensor Tower’s.
